Save Our Creeks Take Action

WE DID IT! THE EAGLE TRAINING CENTER failed the zoning change, the comp plan and stipulated agreement!

The Highlands County Board of Commissioners, in a marathon session lasting about 11 hours of testimony and discussion, DENIED the request by Southern Farms to change the zoning from Agriculture to Agriculture/Training Center PD.

About 200 people or more came to protest the zoning change and about 100 people spoke, most of them opposed to the zoning change.

**Please, write our Highlands County Commissioners and thank them for their vote against the rezoning. (See email and addresses below)

**Please contribute to the legal fund. Our attorney, Jim Lobozzo, cost $20,000. Without him, we would have been lost. He pointed out problems with the planning department's recommendations and very clearly outlined to the commissioners exactly what they would be doing, legally, if they voted for the project.

Save Our Creeks is the non-profit organization that is collecting the funds to pay the attorney. Please, we need to pay this bill.

Eagle National Security Training Center in southwest Highlands County. Specifically, a 6,000 foot airstrip, helipad, 2,000 acre free fire zone, 5 story building, 25 single family homes, a dormitory for 1,000 trainees, 100 multi family residences, 2 - 250 foot training towers and 950,000 square feet of buildings for lodging, recreation, welcome center, operational and administrative buildings up to three stories.
